The Bulloch Blues Marching Band is a collaboration of the three high schools in Bulloch county. The three music directors have partnered to achieve a goal to perform on a national level. Without the partnership, neither of the high schools has the needed number of students, funding, or support to compete with larger urban schools. Joining forces, allows the three high schools to provide greater experiences for their students, like the amazing opportunity to march in the Citrus Bowl Parade and Macys Holiday Parade Orlando in December 2015. We are currently planning for our trip to the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, DC in April, 2018.
Sharing one Dream
Even though their schedules are busy with classes, rehearsals for their individual marching bands, games, rehearsals for Bulloch Blues and everyday life demands, they still find time to conduct fundraisers to help offset the cost of starting up the Bulloch Blues, as we had to raise around $100,000 to be fully operational. We plan to go on a big trip every two years. In order to do so we have to raise approximately $100,000 each trip. Any support you can show our cause is greatly appreciated. If you do not feel like adding one more shirt to your closet, our 99Pledges campaign is the best way to contribute to our cause, feel free to stop by https://99pledges.com/fund/bullochblu and show pride by letting the whole community know that you are behind us the whole way. If you rather make a cash or check donation, download this packet and submit it with your donation to Lee Collins, Director of Bands at Statesboro High School. (For Corporate sponsorships, please refer to that specific tab).
Realizing the dream of creating this county-wide would not have been possible without the support of all of you, Bulloch County! The Bulloch Blues wants to show their appreciation by showcasing the Bulloch County area and regularly perform Blind Willie McTell’s “Statesboro Blues” (also recorded by local musical heroes the Allman Brothers) at every event. Thank you for supporting our 3 local high schools and their music programs.
Again, thank you for taking the time to learn more about this amazing collaboration between our county’s high schools and their efforts to continue to elevate Bulloch County. Check out our social media sites to receive information about what we are up to and where you can see us next!
